Written in a fresh and inconvenient way the authors puts the reader´s focus of attention to Psychology as a critical factor of project success.

EN_buchempfehlung-Prince2Managing Successful Projects with Prince2

This latest version of the Prince2 method has been designed to place more emphasis on the principles that underpin successful project management, and to provide clear guidance on how to apply these principles to the organizational context within which projects are operating. As such, it is an essential manual for anyone with an interest in managing projects more successfully.

The art of changing yourself

Is there anyone who doesn’t want to be more happy or more successful in his life?

Is there anyone who doesn’t want to be more happy or more successful in his life? Having made the decision to change your life the question will still be: what is the right way? [from the blurb of the book]

My opinion about the book: the author describes many methods how to change yourself. He doesn’t put forward a certain theory or model about self-control but uses all empirical data from modern psychology. Having read the book `till the end no one can say: I would like to change my life but doesn’t know how.

EN_buchempfehlung_cafeThe World Cafe

When a company or an organization has to solve an important question for itself, it can resort to the so called WORLD CAFE.  The world café is a method to bring  many people together in order to discuss an issue in structured and focused way.

The book presents in detail the basic principles, the role of the host, the course of the conversational process and the materials needed to conduct such a world café conference. Also, the book demonstrates in lot of examples, how the world café conversations can be put into practice.

The focus of this method is on large-scale groups to evoke and make visible collective intelligence.

A fascinating method and a fascinating book!

buchempfehlung_zieleLeading with adaptable objectives

The Beyond Budgeting-Round Table (BBRT) concept shows to the classical management by Objectives (MbO) an attractive alternative model: instead of attached objectives, movable, relative objectives are defined, instead of a top down planning a bottom-up process is favoured. Accordingly resources are orientated on demand and are co-ordinated by the actors themselves and control of relative Benchmarks are reached.

The book clearly describes the basic ideas of the BBRT concept. Besides, the author explains at many places how the concept can be moved specifically in the practise. For everybody who are discontented with the annual purpose arrangement conversations this book is an interesting alternative!
